Concept ideas and art


I thought it would be cool to show of some of the planning I did for the game. I sketched out rough ideas of how the game will be laid out on screen. It also helped me to create the code structure of how I will handle each element. 

I decided to create a Pico-8 version of Scoundrel after finding a video on YouTube about the original game. It was interesting to see a simple deck of playing cards being used as a Dungeon Crawler Roguelike game. 
I wanted to challenge myself to recreate the game in Pico-8.
